Challenge

Brizi, now rebranded as AmplifiCam, created an innovative product that lets fans control remote cameras from their mobile devices to capture professional-quality photos of themselves and their friends in stadium seating. The challenge was to validate the experience in real-world contexts—ensuring usability, emotional impact, and ease of sharing during the high-energy atmosphere of live games.

Objective

I led a user research project to test and refine the fan experience. The goal was to understand how fans discovered, interacted with, and shared content through Brizi’s platform, and to identify improvements that would drive adoption and engagement at scale.

Outcome

We conducted first-person testing as a team, ran guerrilla testing at a Toronto Blue Jays game, and validated the experience inside a hockey arena. Research included interviews with 10 user groups and live trials of both photo and video capture. Fans loved the novelty of controlling cameras from their phones and appreciated the interactivity, but struggled with unclear recording cues, saving options, and share motivations.

Impact

Our research delivered actionable insights that shaped the product’s UX and feature roadmap. Recommendations improved clarity around recording, streamlined sharing flows, and aligned content features with fan motivations. These findings supported Brizi’s transition into AmplifiCam, helping them position themselves as leaders in fan engagement and stadium innovation.
