Challenge

BlocBank had a strategic imperartive to rebrand and establish a stronger brand for it's intitutional banking opportunities. The company was looking for a unified market position that could communicate trust and security while still supporting a modern consumer experience.

Objective

As a strategic lead - my role was to guide the leadership team through the rebranding effort to help define a position that clarified the company’s institutional capabilities, sharpened its investor and consumer value propositions and support the creative team thoughout the process.

Outcome

I worked collabortively with executive & design team to solidify the company’s IP-driven value proposition and regulatory posture, leading to the adoption of the name Fideum —a brand rooted in trust and institutional readiness. This clarity strengthened how the company presents its proprietary infrastructure and compliance capabilities to partners and investors.

Impact

The new "Fideum" brand position help strengthen credibility with enterprise partners and investors alike. Following the rebranding, Fideum won the 2023 Mastercard Lighthouse Program and was setup for success for subsequent investments that followed. The refined narrative now anchors Fideum as a trusted digital asset institution today.

Finroy, founded by Bill Murphy—well known in Canadian FinTech for scaling and exiting Wagepoint—had spent two years developing a product for accountants and small business owners but struggled to find product-market fit or secure investment. Recognizing the need for a new direction, Murphy engaged me to evaluate the product, provide a clear strategy, and help position the company for its next phase.
